How to Prepare Dealership Inventory for Facebook Marketplace

A step-by-step workflow for preparing dealership vehicle listings for Facebook Marketplace, checking prices and photos, and publishing manually.

Start with the actual vehicle detail page

Open the individual vehicle listing on your dealership website, rather than an inventory search-results page. Confirm that the listing is current and approved for marketing. Vehicle imports can be incomplete when a dealership changes its website design.

Check vehicle information before using it

Review year, make, model, trim, mileage, price, condition, colors and stock number against your dealership records. If an item cannot be verified, leave it blank rather than guess. For used vehicles, verify condition and any required legal disclosures.

Use only authorized vehicle photos

Select clear pictures of the actual vehicle and use only photographs your dealership has permission to redistribute. Avoid misleading stock imagery or manufacturer photos presented as images of the specific used vehicle. Facebook may impose upload or listing limits that vary by account.

Prepare the Marketplace listing

Use a compatible tool such as Marketplace Poster to transfer selected details and photos to the Facebook Marketplace form where supported. The employee remains signed in to their own Facebook account and should inspect every populated field.

Review and publish yourself

Check the full preview, dealership contact approach, current price, mileage, availability and all required disclosures before manually publishing. A listing prepared by software is not a guarantee that Facebook will accept or keep it live.
